Why?

One of my weaknesses in Japanese culture is flattery.  It's a conversational technique to make the situation smoother, but I'm not very good at it.  It may sound childish, but I don't understand what it means to say something you don't really mean. It makes me look like a fool if I take it as is... It's sad.  If everyone were to say things straightforwardly, the supposedly reserved Japanese people would collapse. But I recognize that this is a group of people who don't want to take the brunt of it and don't have a will of their own.  It is often said these days that the Japanese are a lonely people. I believe this is because they are concerned only about appearances and have few friends with whom they can express their true feelings. I wonder if we really need people with such a superficial relationship. As long as there is no open exchange of opinions, meaningless meetings will continue, the race-baiting order of the world (whether it is good or bad) will ...

結婚について

I'm sorry it's been so long since I've been here. My mental health is not so good at the moment. It's mainly about love and fearing for the future that hasn't happened yet. There are three challenges in life: the first is the challenge of work, the second is the challenge of friendships, and the third is the challenge of love. And the later they are, the harder they are to solve. From Adler. Just like you. Autumn is my favorite season, but it's also quite sentimental and makes me feel sad inside. Well, there was a big news in Japan yesterday. Princess Mako of the Imperial Family and Ms. Kei Komuro got married. However, it took three years for this marriage to take place.  The emperor family can be said to be the family of Japanese gods, so it is almost as if they are not human. After the war, they were afraid of being worshipped too much, so they are here today as a symbol, but I believe that Japanese people have a special admiration for the emperors who pray f...

アイドル!

Do you like idols ?  Nowadays, a lot of young girls are playing the center part (flowery position) according to their popularity. My friend who used to be in a visual band with me recommended me to listen to Nogizaka46, and I started to think that idols are great.  Do you think there is anything like Japanese idols overseas?  These girls are the embodiment of men's ideals, with their cuteness on full display. I don't think it's an exaggeration to say that anime characters have slipped into reality.  Their smiles are the result of their efforts. For a blunt person like me, the fact that they smile all the time, even when they are going through a lot of pain, is enough to make me want to applaud them.  Each person has their own individuality, and it is desirable to make the best use of them in life, but idols are visibly ranked by their popularity. The girls at the top of the rankings are happy, but they always feel a sense of frustration that they might be ...

About 岡田嘉夫

Good evening, everyone. Today I would like to talk about a wonderful picture book that I came across by chance when I first encountered Kabuki. When I was a junior high school student, I was depressed every day to say the least. I was a child who was much more mature than my age, and I had a hard time getting along with my friends, so I spent my days in doldrums. I couldn't see the point in taking my friends out to eat lunch or go to the bathroom. "I said, "I'm going to eat alone from today. I'm going to eat by myself from now on," and spent my time by myself. However, this was a strange sight to the flag, and I was told by my homeroom teacher "Are you being bullied?" The homeroom teacher once asked me if I was being bullied. To which I replied, "I don't think I'm being bullied. I replied, "Teacher, do you think I'm being bullied? I said I wanted to eat by myself, so don't worry about it." I borrowed and read many bo...

Nobel Prize in Physics

How are you all doing? In Japan, the Nobel Prize in Physics has been awarded to Dr. Yoshiro Manabe , and while there has been a lot of excitement, the words he spoke have caused a lot of controversy. Mr. Manabe's words were controversial: "In Japan, it is not allowed to disturb the harmony, and research could not be done in Japan. I remember he said something like, "In Japan, it is not allowed to disturb the harmony. You always have to look at your surroundings, ask permission, and make sure your every move is in line with your surroundings. It's not like those rules are written down on a piece of paper, you know. There is a unique Japanese culture of reading the atmosphere. If you deviate from it in any way, you will be recognized as a heretic. Of course, reading the air is not a bad thing. Of course, reading the atmosphere is not all bad, as it can sometimes lead to things happening at the right time, and it can also be a way to show consideration for others...

講談師 襲名披露

How are you all doing? Today, I went to a part-time job to help out at an event! It was a lecture. It's similar to rakugo, and it's about telling people historical facts through speech. A fan is used to create a sense of realism, so the performer's artistic style comes out clearly. Noh, Bunraku, Kabuki, Rakugo, and many other classical performing arts exist in Japan. Many of them deal with the same stories and facts. When a performance that originated in Noh is performed in Kabuki, the back of the stage is called "Matsubame-mono" with pine trees painted on it. An example of this is the Kanjincho . If the performance is taken from Bunraku (ningyo joruri), a performance method called " ningyo buri " is used to imitate the movements of a puppet. The actors move not smoothly, but in a robotic dance-like manner, and the performance is designed to make the actors seem as if they are being controlled by a person called a kouken .( 後見 ) An example of this is Aya...
