Overseas trainee


Recently, something that is impossible in Japan has been happening. Before I go any further, let me explain the "Overseas　trainee .

Many overseas trainees come to Japan to work as apprentices.

There are many people from overseas who work in Japan as trainees.　

Thanks to these people, Japanese industry is maintained in some aspects.

However, it costs a lot of money to come to Japan, and most of them have to borrow money to come to Japan. 


Recently, Japanese people have started to hear that there are many people who are forced to work in an environment that is completely inferior to what they were offered as employment conditions. 


Wages are lower than offered, unpaid, no overtime, no rest, etc. 


In one recent case, a worker was assaulted to the point of breaking his own bones.

She felt her life was in danger and asked to change her place of employment, but was not accepted. 


The reason for the assault was that she could not communicate in Japanese and it interfered with her work. This was a very uncreative reason. 


When was the last time Japan was a developed country? 


At my workplace, there are many trainees from the Philippines and Vietnam.

Today, when I went to the locker room to drop off my luggage, I happened to see one of the trainees studying Japanese kanji characters in a flip-book, so I talked to her! 


I spoke to her and said, "You're really enthusiastic about studying!

 She was very fluent in English.

It's impossible to bully a foreigner who is trying her best to live in a strange country, with different customs, and without knowing the language. 


If you don't understand something, someone who does should help you and let you grow up to understand it little by little.

I feel in many places that the number of Japanese people who have that kind of compassion is decreasing. 


One person's kindness can spread rapidly. 


As the Japanese proverb says, "Mercy is not for other people," it will bring happiness to you one day. 


Above all, if you show kindness, you will feel proud of yourself.
